John Batdorf's uniquely passionate vocals and guitar playing landed him his first major record deal back in the 70's with Atlantic Records, and he's continued to develop and grow as an artist to this day.
As the song writing and lead vocal half of Batdorf and Rodney, John began honing his craft and developing his own style back in the early 70s. After the breakup with Rodney, John did an album with a group called Silver and toured the country promoting their album at venues with the likes of America, Doobie Brothers, Poco and Hall and Oats. Fans devoted to his sound recognized John's voice on several radio and television projects in the 80's when he worked as a top LA studio se... More in the full listing... |

Jack Williams is at the peak of a 51-year professional music career. He's a SC-born singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/ storyteller living in NW Arkansas, a writer of original songs with a strong sense of place - usually the southeastern U.S. - and as Vic Heyman wrote in Sing Out!: "...one of the strongest guitarists in contemporary folk".
His appeal as a performer is multi-faceted: there are listeners who love his stories (always true and always accompanied by the guitar) as much as the songs; there are the "pickers" who love experiencing his inimitable style of improvisatory fingerpicking; and there are fans of song-lyrics and melodies who are always inspired and satisfied at a Jack Will... | Kerrville New Folk Finalist 2010Songs about broken things and poignant little ponderings are delivered with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove. Annie and Rod are on a musical journey that began in 1982, culminating into a symbiotic sound that reflects their deep and intuitive understanding of each other. Annie’s disarming, earthy voice and solid command of her guitar are punctuated by Rod’s effortless, accompaniment and beautiful solo work. Together they weave unforgettable melodies that are at once intricate and sparse - musically completing each others’ sentences. Over the years, Annie and Rod have done it all; from rock to musical theater and while they ... More in the full listing... | ||

Noah Earle was born in Topeka, Kansas, "a good place to dig potatoes." Surrounded by a musical family, he absorbed various strains of influence. His musical involvement began in early childhood when he would listen to the traditional country and country-gospel music that his family would play and sing at their gatherings.
Between the ages of about 5 and 18 he underwent classical training for piano, voice and fiddle (his grandpa said "never let anybody call it a violin")he age of 10, he had decided that he wanted to write songs, like his uncle and grandfather. Throughout this time, he was also exposed to blues and jazz by his dad and uncle, both of whom performed in a number of bands. ... More in the full listing... |

Stevie Coyle (late of the whiz-bang string band The Waybacks) is one lucky bum. His dad ran a radio station in southern California and brought home all the promo LPs that didn't fit the Spanish-language format. The Ventures' Guitar Freakout, The 50 Guitars of Tommy Garrett and Alvin And The Chipmunks Play The Beatles' Hits all came home on a single fateful day.
It didn't hurt, either, that string-meister David Lindley played in a bluegrass band that rehearsed right next door and gave Stevie his very first lessons, or that his dear Granny was a pianist in the heyday of vaudeville and that his sainted mother was a whiz in mandolin orchestras during the 1930s. ... Roy Schneider has hopped, skipped and jiggled along a varied and interesting life path to the award-winning singer/songwriter he is today. His musical interests piqued early, his father having been a career musician and his sister having been courted by the New England Conservatory of Music for her piano prowess. When piano lessons didn’t work out so well for Roy at age 6, his poor mother was aghast. “Now my boy will never be a starving musician,” she undoubtedly worried, but things became more promising in that regard when he took a serious interest in the harmonica.
Roy spent two years as a runaway teen with little more than a guitar and a lot of time on his hands, amus... More in the full listing... |

Blame it on Rawlins, Wyoming. Fingerstyle guitar wizard Walter Strauss was born out there in the big open, & was seduced to look to the vast spaces of the American West for his inspiration. But while rooted in American folk forms, Walter's music evokes far reaches of the globe as well. He's worked with musicians from West Africa to Australia & Finland, & weaves world beat, Americana, & jazz into a brand uniquely his own. Walter digs deep grooves for his audiences - he layers on highly articulated melodies & harmonies, rhythms & counter-rhythms in a way that gives the impression he's playing several instruments at once. His voice is smokey & intimate & charms listeners, whether in a lusty... More in the full listing... |

| When Bob Sima opens his mouth to sing, what comes out is beyond the human sounds of a warm and soulful voice, yep, there?s more. A story, a nudge, a reminder, an angle on something very familiar you probably have never considered. A poet, observer, scribe, sometimes reluctant healer all bundled up into one singing songwriting bundle of energy so tapped in?he kinda needs a glass. His right hand slaps the guitar in a seemingly casual fashion, usually in rhythm with all of the toes in the room. There is no way to encapsulate the record ?Pour It On? other than his tagline ?Good Music for Good People | ||
